I am Steven and I live on the edge of the North Pennines near Penrith in Cumbria. I own and run by myself this 'cottage' craft business. I am professionally a Geologist, graduating in Geology Geography. I started making my ornamental miniature Fell & Mountain models in 2020 and the global crisis accelerated my determination to turn this into a business. My experience of making larger practical working fibre glass based models for my Earth Science workshops I do in schools has been the foundation. I am self taught in the skills of sculpting clay, moulding, casting and hand painting them.

I am very familiar with Cumbrias Lake District, having explored it extensively and have known the Lakes since I was very little. I have also explored & climbed most of Scotlands and Wales mountains. Further afield I have climbed 3 of the Swiss Alps highest 4000 metre peaks, several peaks in Norway, Corsica, Italys Dolomites & several Italian volcanoes. In Iceland I have explored & climbed 15 of the main volcanoes including active ones & the highest and experienced the lava eruption of Icelands Eyjafjallajökull in 2010.

All this has given me the experience and inspiration to make the models.
